In each room

A day in each room

Two babies playing with soft toys on a blanket on a shaded porch, with a caregiver sitting beside them

Sprouts

The youngest room has floor time, a porch for fresh air and a shaded corner of the garden. Babies eat and sleep on the schedule each family gives us, and the toddlers join the table when they are ready.

  • 6 weeks to 2 years

  • Petronila leads the room

  • Meals on each child's own schedule

A child proudly holding up a pinecone on a nature walk

Seedlings

Twos spend the morning at the herb planters, the water table and the path along the beds. Before lunch they help wash the vegetables and carry the bowls to the table.

  • 2 to 3 years

  • Full day, mornings with lunch or three full days

  • Boots and a spare set of clothes

Six children sitting on log stumps listening to a teacher who holds up a pinecone

Garden room

Threes and fours have their own beds to water and pick, trail walks along the stream and a turn at setting the table. They help decide what goes in the garden next season.
